Why Shop With Us?

Having spent the best part of the last 6 years with our heads stuck deep into understanding online shopping habits and reading various studies we have hopefully put together a website that does exactly what you our customers want in a website without loads of fuss and unfillable promises.
Our way of working is to give you what you want, when you want at a price you want.

As many people do not 'read' websites but rather glance at images, lots of sites 'trick' you into parting with your cash knowing they now have your cash and service your order as and when they want. We are, we feel different!

How many sites offer gift wrapping, free or not? Most sites offering this service are those that are home based and as such do not have the volume of orders that makes this service impossible to maintain.

Parklife...We're all rubbish at wrapping and you'd be horrified at our attempts so for that reason we do not offer this service, we also don't want to be wrapping and in doing so delaying the despatching of your order.

How many times will you see a website promising free delivery? We know there's loads of them out there, what we also know is most of them are adding upto 20% to the price of the item to cover this 'free delivery'

Parklife...We can't always offer free delivery. Yes it would be lovely if we could do it all year round but we simply cannot bring you the choice we do at our very competitive prices as well as throwing in what is quite an expensive service for nothing, what we do do is charge the absolute mimimun flat rate we can whether you're buying 1 item or a dozen, you'll pay just one flat rate, not like some sites we could mention that charge you more, the more items you buy, now that doesn't make sense, does it!

How many times will you see free returns? Sorry, same again, so many websites counter the cost of offering 'free returns' by adding to the price of the item in the first place, another something some of our competitors will do is get you to pay for a prepaid returns label, so not exactly free!

Parklife...We can't do free returns. Again keeping our prices very competive keeps us from being able to offer a free returns service however we do not charge (unlike many of our competitors) to send out exchanges/replacement items.

How many websites will claim to offer full refunds? Look at the small print (we all have some). So many sites hide really important information away from general view in the hope that you only find it after you have parted with your cash and have a pair of shoes that wouldn't even fit your daughters doll. Under the DSR, Distance Selling Regulations act all non face to face sales are granted a 7 day 'cooling off' period which gives you the legal right to a refund without reason, now looking at many sites you'll find they state you have 3 days, have to pay a restocking charge, cannot return reduced price items, etc, etc, all these sites are breaking the law.

Parklife...We comply with the DSR (Distance Selling Regulations). We not only comply with the afore mentioned regulations laid down to protect you our cutomer but go beyond our statutory obligations by offering an extra week (total of 14 days) to make any returns to us.

We're the biggest/exclusive stockists! My favourite claim this one, it never ceases to amaze me at the hundreds of sites all claiming to have the biggest, most exclusive range, some with barely half a dozen choices with, if you're lucky a couple of sizes available.

Parklife...In many respects we could be seen as being the biggest stockist of many of our brands as we have built up such a vast and varied range from the likes of Kickers and Converse but if we say we are and we aren't that would be dishonest so we don't but might be!

We're Eco! Another fantastic claim and if they really are doing what they say, fair play, well done, maybe we should all do a bit more to protect our precious planet, after all it's our only home! The problem with so many of these claims is what you see as a customer is eco this, eco that but behind the scenes the lorries carying the goods are belching out all sorts and the hundreds of staff travelling to and from the remote out of town 'eco' warehouses are clogging up all the roads, now that's not very eco is it!

Parklife...We do do our bit but having been closely connected to the waste industry in the past you would be amazed at what goes secretly into landfill, so secretly in fact that companies insisting on night time runs into landfill sites.
As a company Parklife takes it role in being as ecological as possible seriously and sends as much cardboard waste to recycling as possible, we also use, where possible low wattage lighting thoughtout the business. At present we do use plastic carrier bags for instore purchases, yes they are plastic, but as eco friendly as possible. We are actively looking at alternatives but having countered customers views on the use of alternatives we are still searching for that something just right. Are you aware that as householders we all stand to be fined for not recycling correctly yet when it comes to commercial waste many council authorities do not have a clear policy in place meaning that everything collected from commercial premises goes to landfill whether its good for recycling or not.

Need to register to purchase? Why?, is it to make life easier for you or is it for the business to gather marketing lists? Being an online shopping addict I find it beyond belief as to why I must register all my details to buy a new jacket, why do they need my details and then why do I get bombarded by email after email (9 in 13 days!!!) and then find as the buisness has been brought out by another 'parent' company I then get emails from all the 'parent' companies.

Parklife...We let you, the customer decide on whether to register and if upon doing so these are treated with the upmost repsect and care and are never released outside of the company. We also promise that we will not fill your inbox with loads of marketing emails, on a good month the most you'll get from us is 2 emails, but more than likley just the one. Whatever happens in the future, you have been kind enough to let us have your details but we won't let anyone else get their mits on them, thats a promise!

Parklife...The only time you'll get to speak to a machine is when we're closed or already busy at which time you'll be greeted by our glamorous assistant Laura and asked to leave your name and number for us to ring you back as soon as possible. As a family run business if you want to speak to a particluar one of us just say so and we'll be only too glad to get to the phone and if not immediately available will be in touch without delay.

Parklife...So, why use us? What makes us different? We make no wild claims although it some cases, maybe we should! Everything we do is based on complete honesty and being fair to you, our customer in a clear and transparent way. Our number one objective above all else is to make you, our customer happy and we like to think we hit the target most of the time.
