Riskers 2 Fishburn Park 7 Fishburn were again on the road with a trip to Riskers. Fishburn started slowly with Riskers knocking the ball about well. Riskers opened the scoring when their centre forward outpaced the Fishburn defence. Millward equalised with a powerful run and great finish. The goal of the game came when Bailey beat 2 players and crossed for Dossor to flick into the bottom corner. Riskers now became very undisciplined as Park began to play the flowing football which has now become expected. Millward was causing all sorts of problems down Fishburns right. Fishburn went on to score 5 more goals to make the final score 7-2 to Park, with the second half goals coming from Millward, Mainwaring 2 and Dossor 2. Fishburn have finished runners up in the League so this has been another successful season for Park with many of the squad showing great potential. The future of Fishburns senior teams looks bright. Andy would like to thank all the lads for their commitment and ability shown during the season, as well as all parents for their support especially in the last month of the season. Fishburn Park 2 Ayton 0 Fishburn took on Ayton looking to continue their impressive end to the season. Park began slowly against the wind. In a tight first half Fishubrn struggled to get their passing game going. Kilpatrick was Parks main threat down the left and some neat interchanges between Kilpatrick and Dossor was causing Ayton problems. The move of the game came when the ball was fed to Bailey who beat 2 defenders before crossing to Dossor to score from close range. The second half started with Park on top. Lund was now passing the ball quicker and this suited Fishburns style better. From a good move involving Lund, Ghani and Mainwaring saw Millward race clear and Parks leading scorer made no mistake. The rest of the game was pretty even and Fishburn ran out worthy winners without getting out of first gear. Fishburn defence played well with Blacklock outstanding. Filey 1 Fishburn Park 3 Fishburn travelled to last season's league winners expecting a tough game. The opening exchanges were quite even. 10 minutes into the game Filey began to dictate and they opened the scoring when their centre forward raced clear and finished well. This seemed to spark Fishburn into action and they grew stronger and Dossor struck a shot from 25 yards which took a deflection and found the bottom corner. The second half started with Park playing some great one and two touch football which Filey could not handle. Filey grew frustrated and began to try and intimidate Fishburn with a series of poor tackles. A great move involving Lund and Sullivan resulted in the ball breaking to Dossor who found the net from close range. The Filey defence was struggling to contain the pace and power of Millward and it was Millward who produced a great run and cross for Dossor to complete his hat trick with a neat finish. Park defended well in the final minutes with Noble making a number of great saves. This was Fishburns best performance of the season with Damon Butler outstanding. The passing and movement in the second half showed the quality that Fishburn have. Park never lost their discipline against a side which had tried to intimidate them from the very first kick of the game. Match Sponsor: Parklife www.parklifeclothes.co.uk

Park now seemed to loose concentration and conceded 2 sloppy goals to make the half time score 3-2 to Seamer. Fishburn opened the second half pressing hard looking for the equaliser. Park created many chances but could not find a finish. As the game reached the last 10 minutes Mainwaring picked the ball up on half way and beat 3 players before smashing the ball into the top corner from 25 yards. Park were now piling on the pressure but from a Seamer breakaway Wassall pulled off a superb save tipping the ball over the crossbar. The game now entered the final minutes. Eastfield 4 Fishburn Park 0 Fishburn travelled to League leaders Eastfield with a depleted squad. In a very even opening they matched their rivals who had in their ranks six School of Excellence players. Eastfield slowly began to get a grip on the game and in a mad 10 minute spell went 3-0 up as Park allowed the Eastfield midfield time to pick their passes. Just before half time Eastfield made it 4-0 with a neat finish. The second half began with Park now playing some good football and creating chances. Ghani now started to get to grips with the midfield and Fishburn went on to dominate the second half but could not turn their superiority into goals. After a disastrous 10 minutes in the first half Fishburn worked hard and never stopped competing. Lund worked tirelessly in midfield with skipper Zancudi again outstanding at the back. Fishburn Park 1 Filey 5 CUP Park kicked off playing with the strong wind but could not find away past a strong Filey defence. Park were playing too much long ball with the ball running away from the forwards. As half time approached the ball broke to Dossor who fired home from 20 yards. From one of the few moves Park strung together Bailey crossed to Millward whose brilliant diving header was saved by the keeper. The second half began with Filey piling on the pressure and it was not long before they equalised. Filey took the lead shortly afterwards when they worked an opening and scored with a neat finish. Filey went on to score a further 3 goals to make the final score 5-1. Park never really got going against a Filey team who raised their game and ran out worthy winners. Defenders Smurthwaite and Zancudi tore into every challenge but their commitment was not enough to keep Park in the game. Match Sponsor: Parklife www.parklifeclothes.co.uk

Fishburn Park 4 Snainton 1 Fishburn entertained Snainton in blustery conditions at Eskdale School. Park welcomed back the 5 players who were missing from the draw at Snainton 2 weeks ago. Fishburn started brightly against a strong wind and created some decent chances. Mainwaring was again causing problems with his strong running. Fishburn suffered a blow when full back Sullivan had to leave the field with a knee injury but the introduction of Dossor seemed to lift Park. With only a few minutes till half time Wassall made a brave clearance on the edge of the box to take Park into break 0-0. Park began the second half playing some neat football and the introduction of Lund who was returning from long term injury helped Park link play between midfield and attack. After a good move the ball broke to Millward who opened the scoring with a lob from the edge of the box. Park were now piling on the pressure but from a break away Snainton equalised with a long range shot. Fishburn soon regained the lead when a through ball from Mainwaring sent Bailey clear to score. Park were now dictating the game and Millward got his second when he burst clear and tucked the ball into the bottom corner. Snainton made a couple of isolated breaks but found keeper Noble in great form. Blacklock completed the scoring with a great run and finish from an acute angle. This was a very impressive performance from Park against a good Snainton side; with the defence in superb form this laid the foundation for Parks flair players to dictate the game. This season has seen Jordan Smurthwaite and Sam Bailey reach 100 games for Fishburn Park. The club would like to thank both players for their outstanding contributions over the past 5 seasons. Snainton 2 Fishburn Park 2 Fishburn made the journey to Snainton without five key players. Fishburn knew it was going to be a difficult game against a team, which has a habit of taking points from the top teams. Snainton started brightly and within 10 minutes they were ahead when a good move saw their powerful striker clear and he finished neatly. With so many changes Park seemed very disjointed and they were struggling to keep the ball. Snainton went 2 up when they scored direct from a free kick. Although below par Park continued to work hard and they were rewarded when a great cross from Weatherill was volleyed home by Mainwaring on the near post on the stroke of half time. Fishburn upped their work rate in the second half as they went in search of the equaliser. Mainwaring was causing the home team problems with his aggressive running. A good move involving Blacklock and Kilpatrick saw the ball fall to Mainwaring to equalise with a neat right foot volley. The final 15 minutes were end to end but with Wassall in great form in the Park goal the game ended 2-2. Although under strength Fishburn played with great endeavour and deserved their share of the points with every member of the squad giving 100%. Match Sponsor: Parklife www.parklifeclothes.co.uk

Kirkdale 2 Fishburn Park 4 Fishburn travelled to Kirkdale looking to continue their great run against a team who have only been beaten once at home all season. Kirkdale began with confidence and dominated the opening 20 minutes. Kirkdale opened the scoring when a scramble in the area was neatly finished by the centre forward. The home team were soon 2 up when neat play resulted in the same forward breaking clear to score. Park now decided to start to play and after missing a couple of chances the ball broke to the inspirational Bailey who struck a superb shot which flew into the top corner from 25 yards. Park were now playing the flowing football which we now expect and Millward and Mainwaring combined for Mainwaring to equalise just before half time. Fishburns defence were now on top as they began to totally dominate their opponents. Fishburn were moving the ball confidently and a great move involving Bailey and Mainwaring saw Millward break clear to score. Not long after Park made it 4 with another great passing move which again was finished by Millward. Kirkdale now became a little undisciplined and put in a number of poor challenges. Fishburn were not intimidated and Zancudi set the standard with a crunching tackle on half way. Park carried on playing some great football and ran out worthy winners to keep up their title challenge. Another great performance against one of the leagues best sides. Parks back four of Smurthwaite, Zancudi, Butler and Sullivan were outstanding with Mainwaring and Millward combining brilliantly up front. Match Sponsor: Parklife www.parklifeclothes.co.uk

Scholes Park 0 Fishburn Park 10 Fishburn took on bottom team Scholes Park on Olivers Mount. Straight from the kick-off Fishburn went ahead with a brilliant chip from Dossor. Although Scholes tried hard they could not match Fishburns quality. With Blacklock and Bailey attacking non stop down the flanks Fishburn always looked like scoring. Further goals from Dossor, Blacklock and 2 from Millward sent Fishburn into the break 5-0 up. The second half was much the same. Virtually all the game was played in the Scholes half and when they did attack the Fishburns defence always looked comfortable. Fishburn went onto to score another 5 goals from Millward, Mainwaring and a second half hat trick from Bailey to make the final score 10-0. Fishburn played some good football albeit against a weaker team. Fishburns side now looked very balanced with new signing Sullivan allowing Blacklock a more creative role. Fishburn Park 5 Flamborough Fishburn continued their title charge with a hard fought win against a very powerful Flamborough side. Park started the better and created some good chances. Flamborough's keeper was in inspired form and pulled off a number of quality saves. The best of which was to turn a powerful strike from Millward around the post. With half time approaching Dossor and Millward combined well and Parks leading scorer raced clear to open the scoring. Straight from the restart Flamborough broke and only a superb fingertip save from Noble kept Fishburn ahead at the break. The second half began and the visitors scored 2 quick goals. Park now chasing the game pushed Blacklock to left wing and Sullivan to left back. This seemed to give Fishburn new momentum with Blacklock rampaging down the left. From a good move Blacklock broke clear to finish neatly. Flamborough then broke and only a crunching tackle from Sullivan stopped a certain goal. Dossor put Fishburn ahead with a 30 yard chip. Bailey made it 4-2 with a brilliant strike from 25 yards. Flamborough came straight back when Wassall misjudged a cross which sneaked in at the far post. Blacklock completed the scoring with a neat finish after great work from Lund and Dossor. This was another great performance from Fishburn with the whole team crunching into challenges against their much bigger opponents. Blacklock, Ghani and Zancudi were the pick of Parks players in a great team performance. Match Sponsor: Parklife www.parklifeclothes.co.uk

Fishburn Park 7 Kirkdale 4 Fishburn took on title contenders Kirkdale at Eskdale School. In cold wet conditions Fishburn began well. Playing some of their best football Park piled the pressure on but Kirkdales keeper was in top form. A good move saw Smurthwaite break away and his shot was deflected in by a defender. Dossor made it 2-0 when he out powered the defence and finished well. As in previous weeks Park now seemed to switch off allowing Kirkdale back into the game. The visitors scored 2 quick goals to level the game before Ghani restored the lead when he struck a great free-kick which the keeper allowed to creep in to the net. Kirkdale began the second half well and scored straight from the kick-off. Soon after they took the lead as Park again went to sleep. Park to their credit reacted positively and began to take the game to Kirkdale and Kilpatrick levelled things with a neat finish. Fishburn Park 7 Hunmanby 3 Fishburn entertained Hunmanby at a very blustery Eskdale School. From the start Park had the edge as they pushed players forward with the strong wind at their backs. Fishburn seemed to have opened the scoring when Marson's shot clearly crossed the goal line before it was cleared and the referee waved play on. Fishburn eventually opened the scoring when Dossor finished after a scramble in the six yard box. Millward made it 2-0 when he powered his shot home from close range. Fishburn were now well on top with Ghani having a great game in midfield. Then a long ball found Hunmanby's forward in the clear and despite Butler making up 4 yards the striker finished superbly giving Noble no chance. Millward made the half time score 3-1 with another good goal. Park kicked off the second half expecting to be pinned back but instead they upped their game. Straight from the kick off Millward outpaced 3 defenders and scored with a brilliant right foot strike. Dossor was next to score when he made a cross field run and curled the ball in with his left foot. Millward now seemed unstoppable and added 2 further goals which brought his tally for the game to 5 and 21 goals this season. Hunmanby scored 2 late consolation goals and never gave up despite being outclassed by Park who played some great football in very poor conditions. Fishburns strike pairing of Dossor and Millward tore into the Hunmanby's defence from the first whistle and Parks second half display against a strong wind was a credit to the whole squad. Both Fishburn and Ayton were playing some great football in a very open game. Fishburn began to put pressure on the Ayton defence and gained a succession of corners but Ayton stood firm. With 10 minutes until half time Ayton had their best spell of the game and from a powerful shot from the right Wassall made a great save tipping the ball over the bar. Just before half time Marson picked the ball up and hit a 25 yard shot which crashed off the cross bar. Fishburn began the second half on top and with Bailey now pulling the strings in midfield Park began to pile on the pressure. Fishburn Park 5 Filey 5 Fishburn entertained league leaders Filey at Eskdale School. The game began very evenly with the defences on top. As the game progressed Filey began to get the upper hand but Park still looked dangerous on the break. Good work down Fishburns right ended with a shot, which struck a Filey players hand in the box and a penalty, was awarded. Bailey stepped up and fired the ball over the top. As Filey grew stronger the pressure began to mount and they eventually took the lead. Filey scored again when Park failed to mark from a throw in giving the opposition space to create the opening. Fishburns heads went down for the last 10 minutes and the powerful Filey team took full advantage to score a further 2 goals making the half time score 4-0 to Filey and Fishburn looked dead and buried. Just after half time Lund came on and this changed the game as he took control of the midfield. Lunds energy and passing seemed to inspire Park as they began to fight their way back into the game. A through ball found Millward and he smashed the ball home. Filey made it 5-1 with a well-worked goal. Millward was next to score with another great finish. Fishburn now believed they could get something out of the game with Blacklock attacking down the left at every opportunity. Marson made it 5-3 with a great finish cutting in from the left. Blacklock then beat 2 players and crossed superbly for a Filey player to turn the ball into his own net. Fishburn still stormed forward and Bailey levelled with a curling right foot shot. Park almost won the game when Dossors shot from 30 yards went just over and the game ended 5-5. Fishburns fight back from 4-0 down was unbelievable. Fishburn Park 1 Seamer 1 Fishburn entertained Seamer in near perfect conditions at Eskdale School. Park started the game well playing some neat football, Blacklock and Kilpatrick were causing Seamer problems down the left. Fishburn created chance after chance but Seamers keeper was in great form. Totally against the run of play Seamer broke away and their centre forward gave them the lead. Seamer now had their best spell in the game but Fishburns defence held firm. Park equalised when a great one-two between Smurthwaite and Millward saw Millward race clear to score. The second half began with Park still on top. Lund was now finding Bailey down Fishburns right and time after time Bailey supplied great crosses only to see chances missed or Seamers keeper pull off some outstanding saves. Blacklock began to get forward and was unlucky to see his shot strike the crossbar. It just was not to be Fishburns day and they had to settle for a draw. Fishburn played some of their best football and dominated most of the game but just couldn't convert the many chances they created. Credit must go to Seamer who played their part in a very entertaining game where their keeper was outstanding. Match Sponsor: Parklife www.parklifeclothes.co.uk

Park began at a cracking pace with Smurthwaite and Ghani dominating the midfield. A great through ball saw Millward race clear and last years leading goal scorer made no mistake. Fishburns strikers Millward and Dossor were causing Eastfield all sorts of problems and it was Millward again who raced clear to make it 2-0. Eastfield dragged themselves back into the game when they scored from the penalty spot.
